The "Suede Baby sound" is comprised of a multitude of influences. Each original song has its own flavor. In a nights performance of original music you'll find a little Blues, a funky groove, a touch of Jazz, occasional Swing, a bit of Rock, hints of R&B & soulful Folk, even a pinch of old fashioned Country.

"Sugar" was born during a photo shoot underneath the Stillwater bridge as Nick noodled around on his guitar, Kristen said, "Hey Nick, play that 'gypsy-jazz' sounding thing." He began playing the swingin' riff as Kristen turned lyrics around in her head. With the help of Sig & Kyle the tune evolved into what has become a signature song of sorts. Nick & Kristen continue to use this method of co-writing their music.

Another song materialized out of a story. As Sig recalled a colorful character from his past, Kristen found the makings of "The Ballad Of Jimmy Pedone". "I've never met Jimmy," Kristen admits, "but from Sig's narrative, Jimmy seems to represent that person or place we each have in our minds - where it's all much more exciting than our own reality." In one way or another, each of us are in search of that illusive feeling; "something more than ordinary". Come find it at a Suede Baby concert.
